How to find the best gas prices in your area
The U.S. gas market is getting less competitive.
The average price of a gallon of regular gas is up about $1 since the start of the year, according to the GasBuddy.com website.
That’s a big increase for a price that has dropped nearly 30 percent since last summer.
The lowest price on the website is $2.89 a gallon.
The national average for regular gas was $2 a gallon last summer, but the average price for diesel fuel was $1.60 a gallon, according the U.N. Energy Security Index.
